Optishot detecting/reading foam balls

Hi there,

I have had the optishot for about a year now and have a complete setup with a projector in the garage (florescent lights, no shadows, driver similar to the optistik). I have noticed a major difference between my swing speed w/ ball (very fast) and w/o the ball (very slow). my consistency is also very good w/o the ball and very bad w/ the ball. In reality, it's possible I am swing 5 mph less w/o the ball, but not 30mph.

However, I made a discovery tonight and found out the optishot is reading the foam ball along with the club. I understand it is not designed to do that, but it can very easily be reproduced. I take my yellow "almost golf balls" and toss them through the sensor and it produces a swing. I can't help but conclude that my issue and the unit reading the ball are correlated.

I love playing with the unit, but the inconsistency does get a little bothersome. Any ideas on how to fix this?
