Save Courses to a Safe Location to Save Time on Re-Installation

This is useful should your Internet connection be slow or restricted.  You will need to copy the folder containing the course files (.sac) and a single file that tells the downloader whether or not these courses need to be downloaded.  Then each time you re-install the software, copy both the folder and file back to where they should go.

  1. Make sure OptiShot is not running.
  2. Show Hidden Files and Folders.
    • Windows® 7:
      1. Click Start » Control Panel
      2. In the upper right View By select Large or Small Icons
      3. Double-click the Folder Options icon.
      4. In the Folder Options window, click the View tab.
      5. Select Show hidden files and folders then click OK.
    • Windows® Vista:
      1. Click  Start » Control Panel
      2. On the left click Classic View
      3. Double-click the Folder Options icon.
      4. In the Folder Options window, click the View tab.
      5. Select Show hidden files and folders then click OK.
    • Windows® 8:
      1. Click the windows key on your keyboard.
      2. Type in Folder Options.
      3. Click on Settings in the Search Bar on the right.
      4. Click on the Folder Options listing to the left.
      5. Select Show hidden files and folders then click OK.

  3. Browse to the appropriate location below and copy the updatemanager.ini file to wherever you want to save it (if it has an icon, it should look like a notepad or piece of paper with a small gear on it).  This is the file that tells the updater to download missing courses.

    C:\ProgramData\Dancin' Dogg Golf\OptiShot\UpdateManager\updatemanager.ini

  4. Browse to the appropriate location below and copy the "data" folder which contains all of the course files to wherever you want to save it.

    C:\ProgramData\Dancin' Dogg Golf\OptiShot\
