I'm missing a course; how do I get it?

Occasionally a course may become corrupted during its download due to some hiccup in an Internet connection.

Please follow the steps below to correct a corrupted or missing course.

  1. Make sure OptiShot is not running.
  2. Show Hidden Files and Folders:
    • Windows® 7:
      1. Click Start » Control Panel
      2. In the upper right View By select Large or Small Icons
      3. Double-click the Folder Options icon.
      4. In the Folder Options window, click the View tab.
      5. Select Show hidden files and folders then click OK.
    • Windows® Vista:
      1. Click  Start » Control Panel
      2. On the left click Classic View
      3. Double-click the Folder Options icon.
      4. In the Folder Options window, click the View tab.
      5. Select Show hidden files and folders then click OK.
    • Windows® 8:
      1. Click the windows key on your keyboard. 
      2. Type in Folder Options.
      3. Click on Settings in the Search Bar on the right.
      4. Click on the Folder Options listing to the left.
      5. Select Show hidden files and folders then click OK.

         
  3. Locate and open the updatemanager.ini file.
    • C:\ProgramData\OptiShot Golf\OptiShot\updatemanager\updatemanager.ini

 

Note: There are four numbers after the equals sign for each course. These are for the software’s internal use. Below we show these as 0000 however, in your updatemanager.ini these will be numbers, such as 1982 or 2200.

  1. Delete the entire line course_name=0000 for the missing course and then save the updatemanger.ini file.
  2. Make the sure computer is connected to the Internet (ideally through a wired connection rather than through a wireless connection.
  3. Start OptiShot and, when prompted, click on Update OptiShot.
  4. When the update is complete click on Close.

The next time you start OptiShot, the issue should be resolved and the missing course returned to your list of courses.
