As part of the training process, statistics should be generated for the courses that are played in game mode, such as rounds played, score and handicap, and if possible fairways, greens, ect.

I see stats as an ESSENTIAL feature of this kind of system. Scores and full history of scores, putts, fairways, greens, handicap, scrambling, driving distance (on the course). Sure, Optishot is a good product but I could be alot better with just a mere addon to the software. Swing statistics could also have the ability to sort while editing. That way it would be much easier to discard (delete) some of the shots if they are messing with the average distances. My son (3yrs) uses the thing every now and then and really messes with my driver stats. Hitting 15 10yrd drives does start to make a difference. Alhough I am happy to have bought this product I must say that I would be much more inclined to recommend it to a friend if MUCH better stats were available.
Of course we could just use our smartphone apps like we do on a real course.....
Use one app for sim stats and another app for real stats.
