Press Buzz

OptiShot has got the media's attention. Read what the press has been saying about Dancin'Dogg Golf and the OptiShot Infrared Golf Simulator.

Wired.com
Don't want to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for a standard golf simulator? Try this sim, which tracks a golf swing's entire path with its two rows of sensors on the artificial turf swing pad. Ten thousand light pulses per second are sent through the system to measure various facets of a swing, such as club-head speed and club-face angle at impact.
The swing pad can be connected to a computer, TV or a projection screen to visually track ball flight off a swing and to evaluate swing mechanics. Eleven courses from around the world can be "played" to take you beyond the comfy environs of your living room.

Planting the Flag - Teeing Off in Iceland
There are only 17 18-hole golf courses for Iceland's 35,000 golfers. Combine that scarcity with Iceland's cold winter, and you have good new for Dancin' Dogg Golf (No. 358), which makes the OptiShot indoor golf simulator. Last winter, Dancin' Dogg's Icelandic distributor sold $60,000 worth of OptiShot products. South Korea, where Dancin' Dogg plans to sell next, may yield even better sales. South Korea has just 400 courses for its seven million golfers.

The cool part about this device is that it’s a lot like the other motion-driven devices available for home consoles, save you don’t bust bubbles or play a casual game of tennis with the OptiShot, you play realistic, real-to-life golf with it and the best part is that you can use your very own shoes, clothes and clubs.

Testimonials

Brandon H.  - Savona, NY
I couldn't be more impressed with this product. A 4th grader could figure it out but it's much more than a video game. I am taken back by how accurate this thing is; especially putting. I went the whole mile with this and built a golf room, video impact and all. I'm just a regular guy in the Northeast who loves golf. I've played at the local bar who had a system they said cost $50,000. They paid $49,601 too much! Great product, can't wait to get Georgia Peach. Look forward to watching this product mature even more.

Ross W.  - Littleton, CO
What a great product at an unbelievable price! I tested other simulators that sell for several thousand more than OptiShot and this product is a winner! The OptiShot simulator gives you accurate shot feedback to hone your skills and lower your handicap. The ability to play real courses with your friends and family is a hoot!

Greg S.  - Salt Lake City, Utah
3DD Golf provides an unbeatable golf experience within the confines of your own home or office. The feedback on each shot letting you know your swing speed, swing path and face angle as you make contact with the ball has allowed me to maintain and even improve my swing through the winter months. It is amazing how much you can learn about the individual elements of your own swing that effect your shot. Paired with a little instruction, I've increased my swing speed (adding distance), and improved consistency (path and face angle) to knock strokes off my game. The value is incredible as well. As a 7 handicap looking to get to scratch, I'm excited to get to the range.

Steve V.  - Woodstown, NJ
I recently purchased the Optishot & have been using it at home. I have a 5 1/2 & 3 year old so getting to the course is tough. After using your system for several days, I had a chance to go to the range. What a difference. My irons were so pure. I was hitting the ball longer & with a better ball flight. On my misses I knew exactly why. Made the correction & was hitting great shots again. I probably picked up 5 yards just because of how pure I was hitting the ball. Thanks for a great system & I'm hoping to continue to improve. I look forward to the new courses. 3DD is a fantastic system.

Ken G.  - Saskatchewan, Canada
We have a very long "weather delay" called winter here. My handicap index usually jumps a couple or three points for the first four to six weeks of a new golf season before it starts to come back down. That didn't happen this spring. Of course I wasn't able to immediately play as well as when we finished the season last fall but I also didn't need weeks to get my game back this year, like I have in years past. OptiShot doesn’t just help you stay on top of your game but 3DD golf is bunches of fun too!!! You get accurate swing analysis and get to play on some beautiful, and tough, golf courses. With your own clubs!!! Sure beats shoving a mouse across your desktop. It makes practice interesting, especially when you get a couple of golf friends over to play.

Robert S.  - Chicago, IL
I'm writing to offer my testimonial to the Optishot system. I have done a lot of research over the last ten years looking for an affordable indoor golf simulator. As you know, most simulators cost between $1,500 and $50,000. I recently purchased your inexpensive system and found it to be absolutely incredible. I am a 13 handicap golfer. I'm from Chicago, so our golf season is limited and this system gives me the opportunity to golf year-round. I installed the system in my garage (9' clearance) and the low cost of your system allowed me to add accessories to create a terrific experience via a projector and a hittable canvas screen. My total cost for my entire project was under $1,000. The software updates are automatic, and I was pleased to see a new golf course as part of my first update. I've invited low-handicap golfing buddies to experience it and they are extremely impressed. My 10-year-old daughter loves it too. It is helpful as a golfing trainer, entertaining as a game, and terrific as a form of exercise to keep me loose over the entire year. Again, I am very impressed with the device. I look forward to updates and wish you continued success.

Darren C.  - Charlotte, NC
I really love your product it has the best bang for the buck and it really does improve your overall game. Thanks so much.

Sam G.  - Long Beach, CA
My experience with purchasing the optishot has been one of the best financial investments to date on developing my golf game. I have been playing this game for over 25 years and am currently a 12 handicap. Given the current capabilities of the optishot which includes providing the immediate feedback via swing analysis date, I hope to become a single digit by the end of the year or earlier. With the recent upgrade (Free by the way) of the Driving Range feature, I am able to focus more on each club and shaping shots more conveniently without having to interface with the program as frequently. All I need to do is hit the shot, view the swing analysis data and view the shot shape. Then do it all over again! Great practice feature. Although I am more than satisfied with the product, I am even more impressed with the customer service. Prior to me purchasing the Optishot, I was able to get excellent feedback from the customer service representative at Dancin Dogg which contributed to my decision to purchase the product. I have recently had to return the product due to extreme durability testing imposed on close family and friends that are in the initial learning stages of playing the game. I have received excellent service from Dancin Dogg such that I was kept notified of the progress and they even replaced my mat which had taken an extreme beating, which was beyond my expectation. I would like to thank the customer service folks at Dancin Dogg over the last 5 months that I have interfaced with and specific thanks and kudos to Morgan Makowski who I have interfaced with 90% of the time. I have and continue to recommend this product to my fellow golf enthusiasts. Regards and thanks,

Aaron R.  - Northeast Illinois
I am genuinely satisfied with the Optishot Golf Simulator. The product allows me to determine my club head speed, face angle, tempo and swing path, etc. with significant accuracy. I ended last season trying to lower my handicap and ran out of time due to Winter. Now, I can practice many types of shots in my home on the Optishot during times of record-breaking snowstorms. I am Opti-mistic that by getting consistent feedback on my swing metrics, I will be a better golfer come this Spring. Some of my golf buddies are already calling me the "sleeper" for next season. On that note, my buddies and I are going to play the Monterey Classic Premium Course on the Optishot this weekend with deep snow drifts outside. More than cool. :-) I tried another affordable simulator before the release of the Optishot, and I returned it because the quality simply was not for real golf swings (I am at 115mph with a 3-wood). The Optishot is staying in my place for good.

Steve C.  - Paoli, PA
I love this thing!!! Having played dozens of 'rounds' on a top of the line indoor simulator I tempered my expectations for your product, but did not need to. You have a very satisfied customer. Any chance that you can create a par three course ala "Three Tops"? Thank you.

Irwin J.  - New Orleans, Louisiana
I can’t tell you how pleased I am with my purchase! After only a few practice sessions, I’ve been able to groove a reliable and consistent swing. Played real golf yesterday and hit it stiff all day! Thanks for a quality training aid!

Tom L.  - Central Florida
I would first like to applaud the creation of an affordable, full function golf simulator for the general public. High end simulators of this quality utilizing 'Doppler radar' can easily exceed 20K, so kudos!!! I am a graduate of the Golf Academy of America, formerly known as SDGA, So I am familiar with golf simulators for club fitting and performance characteristics, as well as enjoying a round of golf during a thunderstorm.

Bruce W.  - Armonk, New York
I just returned from a week-long golf trip. It's a trip we do every year in April. My scoring was 8-to-10 strokes lower this year, and there's no doubt that my improvement was due to the Optishot!!! What a great product! We played 6 courses--mostly courses we had not played last year. My average was 8 strokes lower across the week, and on same-course scoring, I was 10 strokes better. Additionally, my day-to-day consistency was much higher than on any previous trip. Great stuff! Thanks.

Alex K.  - Ontario, Canada
I got a chance to use your Dancing Dog golf simulator here a the Family golf center in Oakville Ontario Canada and it has changed my golfing life. The feedback about angle at impact and where I hit the ball on the club face explained why I hit it short and crooked all the time. With a grip adjustment and something as simple as standing closer to the ball I have taken a few strokes of my handicap right away and hit the ball straighter and farther. Thanks for developing a good product that can really help my game.

Jack W.  - Batavia, Ohio
Just of note of appreciation for the software updates that I was able to download today. Much better look and the shot statistics are a good addition. I like the unit and have it set up with a laptop projector and hitting mat...fun to use and I have begun to improve some bad habits that had crept into my game. With the software updates, I would recommend this unit to other golfers. Thanks for the continued improvement of your product.
